MLK Lions,

We have had a wonderful start to the school year. As we maneuvered through Covid and all its challenges our MLK Lions still persevered and continued in-person instruction. As we end the first semester and enter into the second semester of learning for the 2021-2022 school year, I am so excited to continue our quest to become one of the top three schools in CCPS within the next  three years. I know our Lions are working hard to show what they know each day. .

Preschool through sixth grade students will be learning and growing to meet personal academic goals while continuing to develop as 21st Century Learners .  Students will be challenged by grade level curriculum and supported by RTI (Response To Intervention) practices.  MLK will continue holding high expectations for students academically as well as behavior.  MLK uses the Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) where we celebrate and reward those students who are meeting or exceeding schoolwide expectations.

I look forward to continuing the partnership with students, staff, and families to build relationships, fortify strengths, and produce life-long learners.  These partnerships will allow staff to better understand students and enable us to focus on instruction to meet their needs.  They will learn strategies that will help them be successful in and out of the classroom.  As stakeholders, it is essential we all play our part in assisting students to reach their fullest potential. Our potential is limitless, when we work together.

Thank you for allowing MLK to educate your child

Yours in education
